This time, Demeter ICT had the opportunity to talk to Mr. Phol Promsuwan – Intelligent Mobility Business Manager from PANUS ASSEMBLY, a manufacturer of transportation equipment, providing high-quality transportation and logistics services. Nowadays, business trends have to move into Cloud base, so they chose Google G Suite to help and increase work efficiency within the organization.
With over 45 years of experiences, PANUS has grown to be the largest trailer and semi-trailer manufacturer in Thailand. There is also a continuous expansion of the product line, including vehicles used in the military and equipment for the aviation industry. The business has been expanded to cover many areas both in Thailand and abroad. At present, PANUS has more than 1,000 office staff.
The Challenge
Previously, the email system which PANUS used is server that they set up themselves, and have an IT department to take care of the system. The more company grow up every year, the more workload and contact with foreign countries or various partners. However, setting up the server by themselves had many problems such as virus, spam, server down time, failing to send-receive emails. That made company lose of business opportunities and relationships with customers. Mr. Phol said that when problems occured, it took a long time to solve the problems. Therefore, Mr. Phol decided to change the email system within the organization.
The Result
As the problems from their old email system, combined with the need to step into full internationalization, Mr. Phol thought that the today business trend had to step into the Cloud base, so Mr. Phol looked for a new solution like Google G Suite that would meet the needs of the organization. Mr. Phol added that in the past, the problem encountered by PANUS was the use of self-made systems which did not have enough expertise, causing problems in communicating with customers and lost business opportunities. Until PANUS switched to G Suite, Mr. Phol said that what we didn’t specialize in, we should better use the expert services. So the business could go ahead.
“To solve the problem, we must look at the foundation first. G Suite could build a strong foundation for PANUS. Not only for better communication, employees had better work experience as well. Moreover, it also reduced the burden on the IT department.” Said Mr. Phol.
The key tools in G Suite that PANUS mostly use such as Gmail for efficient business communication, online Calendars, Google Drive that can store files, documents, or the organization’s central data, Google Forms for internal surveys, and Google Slides to make Management Meeting and Management Reviews for use in meetings. Now employees can share files with each other. So they can open files to work anywhere, anytime, on any devices.
